Alice Pleasance Liddell was a curious, twelve-year-old girl when she first tumbled down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. Throughout her adventures in the world of magic and imagination, she fell in love with the places she saw and the people she met. However, when it all came to an end, she was forced to accept that the whole thing had been a wonderfully realistic dream, and begrudgingly continued on with her 'real' life. Until the day of her eighteenth birthday. Sometime, in the early hours of the afternoon, our heroine caught site of the ever-elusive rabbit, and managed to return to the place of her dreams. For good.
Now twenty-two, Alice has settled comfortably into her new life. However, change is coming to Wonderland. News of the Queen of Hearts' death, as well as the disappearance of the King, is spreading quickly. Without any clear leader, their two children are fighting over who shall keep the crown. Cassandra and Demetrius Heart are twins, though no two people could be more different. While Cassandra has the poise, the confidence and the authority, Demetrius is kind and believes in the best interests of his people. Cassandra will surely take after her mother, becoming cruel and selfish, while many doubt that Demetrius has the confidence to run a kingdom. The citizens are taking sides, and war seems inevitable.
Amidst the fight for the crown, Alice has also realized that her feelings for the Hatter may be just a little bit more than friendship. And so, with a divided population, and many confused hearts, what shall become of Wonderland? Will Cassandra manage to win over the minds of her people?
