In the past zombie apocalypses had always been tall tales of fiction
and folklore. No one had ever thought one would actually happen
until two months ago. The first outbreaks started in the Midwest region
of the United States of America before spreading all over the world.
Military forces all over the world attempted to get control of the viral
outbreaks with quarantines and evacuations, but they were conquered
by hordes of the infected in mere days. Riots broke out all over the
globe with survivors of the plague raiding stores for weapons, food, and
other supplies. The pressures of losing family and friends turned some
survivors of the viral outbreak insane. People that were still alive either
fought with each other for pure survival or formed posses in an effort to
increase their chances of living. Cannibalistic monsters massacred
millions of people in visceral acts of hungry carnage until their army of
the undead outnumbered the amount of living people in the world. Men,
women, and children alike all hoped and prayed for relief from somebody,
anybody, but it never came. The bulk of the fallout shelters set up to house
the non-infected, were overran by masses of zombies looking to quench
their appetite for raw human flesh. The sickness became known as the
Z-Virus and the zombies took over the planet within two weeks of the first
reported infection. Humans no longer had to worry about killing the planet
because they began killing themselves. Cities and towns became vacant
areas with only the dull roar of zombie moans, snarls, and growls ringing
through the air. Civilization as a whole became a carcass of its former self.
There wasn’t any cure or vaccine for the Z-Virus. There weren’t any areas
of the world that the zombie apocalypse hadn’t touched with its devastation.
But as time passed by rumors of cures, vaccines, and safe zones began to
circle around. Radio stations played on loops with various messages of hope.
Small groups of survivors traveled across North America to various cities
before finally coming to Buffalo, New York in search of some sort of society
that resembled what they all once had. People arriving in Buffalo learned
quickly, though, that the city’s diminutive population was anything but civil.
Constant wars take place in the city between various factions such as a group
of ex-convicts named the Rogues, a mixed team of roller derby girls known as
the Thunder Dolls, and a militia named the Regulators whom are all vying for
control of the city. Innocent bystanders get killed in the crossfire and left in the
streets as a lunch time snack for the zombies. There is no cure or vaccine in
Buffalo despite the promises that radio signals around North America made.
There is only sheer violence while a new kind of living emerges. A shred of
optimism remains alive on the airwaves, though, as the only living disc jockey
in the world attempts to keep morale up with her rocking tunes on Pulse FM.
Mean while her husband, a chemistry and biology expert, works furiously to find
a cure or vaccine to combat the infection. The city of Buffalo as a whole, including
the zombies, is on the precipice of evolving into something that hasn’t been seen
before as nature weeds out the weak. This is Dead Falls...
